South Carolina is on the cautious path to a safe reopening. Here is what’s happening here at Sauer Grapes:

1) As I’m the only person who comes into contact with customers, I will continue to closely monitor my own health. I promise you that at any sign of illness, no matter how trivial, I will not come in to the shop. I ask that all of you do the same, and not come to the shop if you feel ill in any way.

2) To further protect customers, I’m wearing a mask, and washing or disinfecting my hands on a regular basis throughout the day. I’m also disinfecting door handles and countertops. I also have hand sanitizer available for customers and ask that if you plan to browse, please disinfect your hands before and after browsing.

3) I will be serving limited wines by the glass and limited food inside and outside.

4) I can have up to five people on the Sauer Grapes’ patio and, if you are from the same household, you can sit together at a table. If you are not from the same household, please keep a required six foot physical distance from each other. When entering or leaving the shop, please don’t hang around on the patio if you raise the number of people above five.

5) I am not currently offering any in shop wine tastings. Those will continue online for the foreseeable future, but I am talking to Kathy about her 5 for $5 Mondays and how we could make those work as a test run for the shop.

To my senior customers, I don’t want to discourage you from coming by the shop, but I also want you to please be cautious and take care of yourselves. We are on the right track but the virus is still out there and I want you to stay healthy!

I look forward to seeing all of you, even if it’s only a few at a time! I can’t wait to get back to in-shop wine tastings, dinners, and events in the future… but for now, caution is definitely of the utmost importance. So as you do go out and about, please be diligent about washing your hands, social distancing, coughing into your elbow, and whatever else you need to do to keep yourself, your friends and your family safe and well!
